What is the relationship between AAIPI, AAI and AIH?

Aviation Academy International (AAI) is the aviation training arm of Aviation International Holdings (AIH) LLC which is based in USA. AAIPI is the aviation training establishment of AAI as is SARS aviation in India. AIH LLC is into aviation business solutions and infrastructure development and consultancy.

Where are these establishments located?
AIHLLC has its headquarters in Delaware New Jersey. AAI is its DBA name. SARS aviation is located in Bangalore, the aviation and IT capital of India. AAIPI has its main office in Manila while the flying training establishment is located in General Aviation area at New Bacolod-Silay Airport in Negros Occidental, Philippines.

While providing you a good exposure to weather flying, Negros also does not have extreme weather and flying can progress unimpeded throughout the year.

What training is involved and what type of devices do you use?
Immediately after enrolment the trainees are put through an intense ground preparatory phase while the clearances are being processed. The aim being to prepare the trainee for the cockpit with basic understanding of the machine and the environment. The ground training continues during the entire course with emphasis on understanding the necessary theory of aviation related subjects such as Principles of Flight, Navigation, Flight Planning  Meteorology, Instrumentation, Human Factors and Flight Safety etc. The trainees are progressed from basic stage to advanced stage wherein he operates more complex and powerful machines. Part of the training is conducted on advanced turbo prop simulator wherein one can duplicate the real environment realistically and practices operating in extreme environment and conditions.

How long will the training take?
PPL courses takes on an average of three months. The CPL course takes six to eight months based on prevailing weather conditions.

Will I get to fly everyday?
We do have the resources to provide every trainee flying lessons everyday. However there is a need to assimilate the lessons of previous flight before sitting in the cockpit for the next one. On an average a trainee flies for 20 days in a month. The course schedule has to include ground classes for wholesome development of a well rounded professional aviator.

What language is the training imparted?
As required by CAAP and ICAO training is imparted in English language and all applicants will need to posses a sufficient competency of the English language.

Does AAI provide accommodation and transport?
AAI can provide accommodation at reasonable rates in Silay. Negros is an affordable province. If a trainee requires accommodation and food, we can either provide or facilitate. Please let us know your requirement and we would do the needful.  

What if I wear glasses?
Wearing glasses is not considered a flying disability. You would have to undertake the medical exam prior to commencement of flying and the specialist will confirm your medical fitness for flying.

How much does it cost?

Do you allow your students to fly solo?

Once you are checked out and released by the instructor, you can fly solo both for local and cross-country flights. We have confidence in our training and our product. Solo flying builds confidence and much desired air-sense and situational awareness.

What is your safety record?
We can proudly state that we have an enviable accident free record. With our philosophy of ‘No Compromise’ and emphasis on flight and maintenance safety; that is not a surprise. We select our flying and maintenance faculty with care and invest in their constant training for a perfect flight safety record.

How do I get to AAI?
AAI is conveniently located at General Aviation Area of New-Bacolod Silay City airport. It is about 300m from the passenger terminal. Call us on +63-34-4352794; 4763346, 4352813 for any assistance. Silay is well connected from most airports by PAL, Cebu Pacific and Zest Air.  

What is the year-round weather at Silay like?
Silay is in Negros Occidental. The temperatures do not exceed 33 degrees Celsius in Summer and minimum is a pleasant 24 degrees Celsius. We are not generally affected by typhoons. The rainy season is not very intense and is ideally suitable for weather flying training even during the monsoon period. Our training is not generally affected by weather.

Is the Philippine license recognized by other countries?
Yes, the Philippine license is recognized by all International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) member countries. One will have to however convert the license to local country through a simple process for flying in that country.

Do I have to take clearance from authorities before I start flying?
How do I get a SPL?

You have to obtain the Student Pilot License before you start flying. The procedure for the same is:-
1. Go to Civil Aviation Authority of Philippines  building on ------- in MIA.
2. Fill up copy of Pilots’ License Application Form. Have it notarized. You will require two copies of 2”x2” and 2 copies of 1”x1” photo in white shirt and white background.  
3. Get your medical done including Chest X-Ray, ECG etc.
4. Non-graduates and students below 21 years of age to undergo Neuropsychiatric exam.
5. Visit flight surgeon in CAAP building for final exam.
6. Pay fees at the cashier counter.
Note :  AAIPI has a liaison officer in Manila to facilitate all your license related activities.
