AAI conducts the Airline Oriented Pilot Course (AOPC). The course is designed to cater to the standards of various governing/licensing bodies (FAA, JAA, ATO, DGCA). Over and above catering to the basic licensing requirement, it also delivers advanced airline oriented training including MCC, LOFT and CRM, keeping the student ahead of the pack. This course would include the following from certification/licensing point of view.
  • Private Pilot License
  • Instrument Rating
  • Night Endorsement
  • Commercial Pilot License
  • Multi Engine Endorsement
  • Radio Telephony Restricted to Aeromobile (RTR-A/F/)/ Flight Radio Telephony Operators Licence (FRTOL)
The AAI syllabus has been designed based on detailed discussion with various airlines regarding the shortcomings in their new pilot inductees. The airlines have pointed out the following deficiencies in the knowledge and experience of the new intake:

  • All students were found to be deficient in departure, en-route, and terminal procedures
  • Lack of experience in instrument approaches (ILS, VOR, NDB, WASS)
  • Lack of experience in glass cockpit environment
These concerns have been suitably addressed by AAI by tailoring the syllabus accordingly. The student will receive 20 hours of glass cockpit training beside additional classroom and airborne training in arrival, departure, enroute procedures and instrument approaches.

Unlike other flying schools that only concentrate on flying aspects during the conduct of the Commercial Pilot License (CPL) course, the AAI syllabus has been designed after careful consideration with the airlines and based on our expertise, into following Stages to create a Certified Commercial Pilot who would clear the DGCA exam on his/her first attempt and be absorbed by any airline:
  • Stage I : Pre-course ground training at Bangalore campus
  • Stage II : Flying training and advanced ground training (Philippines Campus)
  • Stage III : Concentrated DGCA CPL written exam preparation and orientation and DGCA flying skill test preparation.
