Home > Indians > CPL Course > Stage II - Flying Training & Advanced Ground Training
This Stage is aimed to be completed in ten months. Flying training and advanced ground training will be conducted in tandem. The academy works on a six-day-week schedule.
Flying training in Stage II
This is conducted in three parts:
- Part I: [Cessna 150 (2 seater) - 150 hours] Part I of flying training consists of induction, pre-solo, general handling, basic instrument flying, navigation, consolidation, PPL and commercial manoeuvres, and night flying phases. During this Part the student will appear for his/her PPL.
- Part II: [Cessna 172 (4 seater) - 40 hours] Part II of the syllabus is devoted to advanced instrument flying and advance night flying phases. The emphasis during this part is on instrument approaches (NDB, VOR, and ILS) and night cross countries. During this Part the student will appear for his/her CPL, and Instrument Rating exams.
- Part III: [Piper Seneca (6 seater multi-engine)] 10 hours on Piper Seneca and additional 15 hours on “Level 5” Simulator for BA 200. Besides addressing the syllabus for multi engine endorsement, Part III incorporates Multi Crew Cooperation (MCC) and Crew Resource Management (CRM) phases. The simulator is used for ME basic conversion, Instrument and Procedural Flight Training and LOFT (Line Oriented Flight Training) lessons to accurately reproduce real-world situations and emergencies. The student will appear for the Multi-Engine Certification during this Part.
To be eligible for Airbus or Boeing conversion after selection by an airline,
the ideal ME rating is 15 hours of actual flying and 10 hours of simulator.
This optional training package is available at extra cost.
The course coverage described above is subject to approval from CAAP.
Ground Training in Stage II
A heavy emphasis is placed on ground subjects at this stage. A minimum of two hours of Ground training lectures are conducted on a daily basis. Besides lectures, group discussions and group study sessions are organised for individual personality development in our quest for producing a well rounded aviator. At this stage the students are also introduced to advanced aviation concepts and subjects.
